Córrego do Feijão
A multidisciplinary effort for a resignification project
The Território-Parque project stemmed from the enormous challenge of re-establishing and creating urban, architectural, and landscape conditions so that the community of Córrego do Feijão – the one most impacted by the dam collapse in January 2019 – would have the conditions to remain and reconnect with the place of their origin and history. The solutions presented bring together reflections from a multidisciplinary team from the fields of architecture, urban planning, environmental sustainability, biology, sanitation, landscaping, design, and lighting.
The symbol of the tamboril, a tree belonging to the Fabaceae family, was chosen to represent the visual identity of Território-Parque. Tamboril seeds have easy germination and rapid growth, making the plant an excellent alternative for the revegetation of degraded areas, which aligns with the project's premise. In addition to the green of the tamboril, we find the perfect balance in blue, both for the visual identity and to represent the water axis, another fundamental aspect of the planning.
The elements of the Território-Parque's visual identity were part of our proposal for the space's signage, which focused on contributing to the feeling of belonging to the place. In addition to the structure and layout of the signage, we also created the educational content that records, on plaques and panels, the processes, stories, and curiosities of each item of the project.
