Palácio Park

Palácio das Mangabeiras went from being the former headquarters of the State Government to another cultural and entertainment option in Belo Horizonte. For the space's identity, we sought to create a light and democratic visual system that values outdoor living and dialogues with the public of all ages.

From the illustrations previously developed for the Jardim das Mangabeiras Collection, inspired by Burle Marx's landscaping work, we selected the shapes of the trees as a representation of the park. The drawings were the starting point  to variable icons, which make up a versatile, friendly, and nature-connected brand.

The modernist influence of the Palace can be perceived in the typographic treatment of the project and in the presence of large areas of color in the brand's developments. The family of signage icons is built from the grid developed for the visual identity. The vector stroke brings fun touches that bring the pictograms closer to contemporaneity, allowing Parque do Palácio to be situated between the place of homage to the past and living the present.
