New Mineirão Stadium
Setting the stage for sport greatness
Designed as a legacy of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, the Mineirão Stadium signage is the highest-rated element of the stadium's new structure, according to data from the Minas Arena consortium. With architectural design by BCMF Architects, the project reflects its grand scale: over 8,000 signs were conceived for optimized production, responding to the complex flow of large crowds.
The signage system interacts with the arena's monumental scale through large color panels that divide the stadium into sectors, enlarged pictograms visible from long distances, and a hierarchical system of signs that considers the multiple needs of the space.
For the project's supporting elements, the graphic language of lines and large solid color areas references visual structures common in sports, reinforcing the stadium's primary use without disregarding its versatility for different types of events.
