Within the Realm of the Impossible

Released in 2014, "Na Medida do Impossível" (Within the Realm of the Impossible) is the fourth studio album from the singer, songwriter, and writer Fernanda Takai. For the album's graphic design, we created a narrative with fantastical elements inspired by the title of the work and an 1885 image by Japanese photographer Kusakabe Kimbei, brought to us by the singer.

The entirely handmade montage is reminiscent of pop-up books, three-dimensional books related to the origami paper-folding technique. The images produced create the symbolic story of a housewife who leaves her everyday environment to explore the world, reaching vast and distant spaces, becoming a superheroine.

"Together, we built a narrative that intimately dialogues with the songs presented," says Takai. "What impressed me most about the work was the detail. The search for poetic foundations, without abandoning good humor and lightness of elements. It is no wonder that people have been praising this new stage in my career, which has the album cover as its banner."
