Kunumi
A Brand System for an Evolving Ecosystem
Kunumi is a Brazilian organization dedicated to research, with a strong academic presence and a track record of internationally relevant scientific production. In 2025, after nearly a decade of growth and a significant expansion in scope, the company underwent a structural transformation that highlighted the need to reorganize its brand and positioning.
Hardy led the rebranding process using a collaborative methodology, featuring weekly meetings and an in-depth research phase prior to any visual decisions. The work began with a broad immersion into Kunumi’s cultural, scientific, and institutional repertoire, based on the understanding that an organization operating in the field of Artificial Intelligence must, above all, maintain a clear and consistent worldview.
From this immersion, a narrative emerged—one guided by curiosity, investigation, and the capacity to perceive the world beyond what it currently is. Drawing from references in philosophy, culture, and science fiction, we structured a language capable of organizing Kunumi’s relationship with innovation, research, and continuous transformation. This narrative became a strategic benchmark, guiding positioning, behavior, and every brand touchpoint.
With this foundation established, we developed a brand system that organizes the ecosystem into three identities: Kunumi, Kunumi Institute, and Kunumi Unlimited. These brands share structural and visual principles, ensuring coherence and a clear hierarchy, while maintaining distinct applications tailored to their specific audiences and contexts.
The identity design was built as a direct translation of this strategic thinking. The new icon, named Versus, serves as the system's centerpiece, articulating both unity and multiplicity. The visual language explores elements such as perspective, scale, and movement to sustain an identity that is precise, flexible, and ready to unfold across various platforms, keeping pace with Kunumi’s ongoing evolution.
